Der Emailletopf eignet sich hervorragend zum Kochen von Suppen, Eintöpfen, Gelees oder Kompott. Emaillegeschirr ist sehr hygienisch: Emaill schützt die Lebensmittel vor dem Kontakt mit dem Metall und verändert auch nicht den Geschmack der Speisen. Emaillegeschirr ist für Gas-, Elektro -und Keramikplatten geeignet.
Vor dem ersten Gebrauch sollte das Geschirr mit einem handelsüblichem Spülmittel gespült werden. Bei Benutzung auf einem Gasherd sollte die Flamme so eingestellt werden, dass es nicht über den Bodenrand hinausragt. Emaillegeschirr sollte beim Transport, Lagerung und Verwendung vor Kratzern und Stößen geschützt werden.
Keine Speisen oder Flüßigkeiten im Geschirr einfrieren lassen, starke Erhitzung des Geschirrs ohne Inhalt vermeiden.
Mit handelsüblichen Spülmitteln spülen, keine Metallbürsten oder Scheuermittel verwenden.
